When You Feel Like You’re Not Enough (But God Says You Are)
I’ve had days where I looked at everything I was trying to juggle—work, faith, relationships—and still felt like I wasn’t doing enough. Maybe you’ve felt it too. The pressure to be perfect, to meet every expectation, and to never fall short can be overwhelming. I questioned my value and wondered if I had what it takes to fulfill my purpose.
But over time, I realized that this feeling didn’t come from God. The world shouts that we have to do more, be more, achieve more to be worthy. Yet God’s voice speaks gently and powerfully through His Word: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). That verse reminds me I don’t have to be everything—because He already is.
God’s Definition of Worth
God doesn’t base our value on accomplishments, appearance, or performance. He sees our hearts. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” That truth is liberating. We are already loved, already chosen, already enough in His eyes.
When I start to feel like I’m falling short, I pause and remember that my worth isn’t up for debate. God created me intentionally and lovingly. He didn’t make a mistake when He made me—or you. We may not always feel qualified, but God doesn’t call the qualified—He qualifies the called.
