GOD Friended Me: Jesus is Calling, Will You Answer?

The other day, I noticed I had ten missed calls from family and friends who were just checking in to chat and catch up. This led me to wonder, how many times have I missed Jesus calling on my life? How often have I ignored His perfect will to do things my own way? And how many times have I allowed worldly distractions to grab my attention and lead me astray?

It's easy to have faith in your own understanding over Jesus. Most of us were taught to trust our gut instincts rather than pray and ask Jesus for guidance before making significant decisions. Ignoring what Jesus instructs us to do often feels simpler because we're afraid of change. Worldly things can easily consume our lives more than Jesus does. After all, many of us choose to chase after likes, comments, and shares more than Jesus.

James warns us, "Be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything" (James 1:6-8).

This passage raises crucial questions: Who should your faith be in? In God alone (v.6). What are the three consequences of having divided loyalty? You will be unsettled (v.6), you should not expect to receive anything from the Lord (v.7), and you will be unstable in everything (v.8).

Jesus is calling. Will you answer?

My answer is yes, I will answer joyfully. Jesus brings great wins to my life. I will abide in Him, with Him, and through Him in every moment that makes up my life. When I answer His call, He does not bring worries, stress, heartaches, demands, pride, or pain. Instead, He fills my life with His unfailing love, humility, grace upon grace, and open arms, guiding my soul to become more like Him.

In our busy lives, it's easy to miss the subtle calls from Jesus. However, by prioritizing our relationship with Him, we can experience profound transformation. We must resist the urge to rely solely on our understanding and instead, seek Jesus' guidance in every aspect of our lives. Embracing His will and wisdom leads to a more stable and fulfilled existence. Let us strive to tune in to His voice, making a conscious effort to answer His call with joy and faith.

In conclusion, answering Jesus' call requires us to shift our focus from worldly distractions to divine guidance. It means trusting in His plan over our instincts and allowing His love to shape our lives. By doing so, we open ourselves up to a life of peace, stability, and profound spiritual growth.

Are you ready to answer Jesus' call and embrace His transformative love and guidance in your life?
